A Catholic Taste Of Stories
MOVIE & BOOK REVIEWS
ABOUT ME

Hi! I am an Indonesian who happens to like to entertain myself with nice books and movies. I am currently 22 years old. I reside in one of the most densely populated city in my country - Bandung, West Java. Books sometimes are hard to come by here, so I get by by reading e-books I purchase via Amazon.com. As for movies, cinemas are usually quite up-to-date here, besides, there are some convenient means I can take.
Why 'A Catholic Taste'? The word catholic here is in no way intended to relate to one of the biggest organized religion in the world. Catholic has been associated with a church led by a pope for quite a long time the real meaning has been forgotten. The original meaning is 'universal, diverse'. And I indeed have a wide preference, both in reading and watching movies, ranging from hardboiled PIs armed with hidden guns in their long jackets to women who share about their shopping problems, brand addictions, and diet struggles. I make no discrimination (racial, thematic, author gender) - as long as they appeal for me, I will give my attention to them.
For me, both movies and books are equally great media for storytelling. Some stories can be conveyed best in moving pictures format, the others are better told written in books. And any form of book is okay - novels are in no way superior than comic books and vice versa. Same goes for movies. Cartoons are in no way inferior than movies with realistic, high-budget special effects.
In the end, the only thing matters is the capability of the storyteller to exploit the medium he/ she chooses to the highest potential.
I hope you will enjoy reading my posts! Your comments will make my day, dear readers.
